Manager comes down since I did not come in and starts being a grumpy old man. So I hopped on my float and swam away intending to never return.
This place is so awesome I really love it, they have a dock out in the water and a forest with a volleyball court.
They have a dock you can swim out to and it's not very deep. My 5 and 7 year olds love it here.
Use the dam to launch kayaks, floats, swim, or fish. There's access to Dundee Pond or Pleasant River on both sides. Don't need a nice day ruined by an exorbitant fee and rude retiree.
1.) I was more than 50' offshore; therefore, off the park property. Park rules don't apply to me.
Parking is more than OOB for a tiny patch of sand and square of water. Cost is likely due to the 3 lifeguards and manager on duty. Why there needs to be more than 1-2 people working at one time is beyond me.
I used the park to launch kayaks and swim/float. 10 minutes of swimming off shore I have a lifeguard whistling at me. "Come in". They weren't happy that I left the roped in area swimming and the kayakers did not have PFDs on.
One of my favorite places
2.) Kayakers had pfds in the kayak, not required to wear them.
Cute area, probably good for kids.
