Typical try to make some easy money from an inspection on a woman. I guess we should change our oil every 3000 miles too, and get that radiator flushed and while we're flushing, you can flush the transmission. Why don't you put some nitrogen in the tires too.

Great work.

Great place to get you car worked on! I have been going to them for years now and my car has never left me stranded. They are always keeping my maintenance up to date; informing me of any repairs I may need too. They are very interactive in showing me exactly what is wrong with my car or what could go wrong. The mechanics are super professional and really clean (not to mention one is extremely cute too ;) ). I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone and absolutely trust their judgement! I would not take my car anywhere else! Very reasonable rates too! Support small businesses!

I called the Maine State Police inspector and he said even "at the limit" he should have put a sticker on it, but it is the mechanics decision and it is also his decision to charge us to inspect the brakes further. Wait, he could tell they were "at the limit" the day before, but now he wants to charge us to verify this? If he can't tell 2/32" from and 4/32" from 2-12" away, he needs new glasses....maybe that's why he wants to charge us more. The customer is not first at this place.

My wife took our 2007 Toyota Avalon, with 60K miles, there for an inspection. The mechanic told my wife that one of the pads was "at the limit" and he would not give us a sticker. He told her that she had about 1000 miles before the backing plate was rubbing on the disc. She told him that I would put new pads on it and we would bring it back tomorrow. Even though I had checked the car over the day before the inspection (I've been a shade-tree mechanic for 25+ years) and the brakes were fine as they had been changed around 40K miles. I bought some pads just incase and took the old ones out to measure them only to find that the thinnest pad was twice the limit at 4/32" and the thickest pad was 6/32". We took pictures, with a tape measure held up to each pad, and put it back together for re-inspection the next day. Certainly he would see that there were no issues. She told him what we found and he said he still would not put a sticker on it and he did not want to see the pictures, but he could charge us an additional fee to take the brakes apart and measure them with his "special" tools because a tape measure is not good enough to measure 2/32". A tape measure is more than good enough to measure pad thickness, but not disc thickness. He obviously doesn't know how to read a ruler/tape measure. He also asked if I bought the pads, why didn't I put them on....hahaha....I guess he has money to waste, but I don't and I don't care to waste resources either.

As with most repair shops, they are more interested in your pocketbook than your best interest.
